MAN-MONKEY - In Search of the British Bigfoot > Is Britain really home to a Bigfoot-style entity? Does the creature have supernatural origins? Or is it something else entirely? Nick Redfern addresses all of these questions in Man-Monkey and reveals a story that is as bizarre as it is macabre. The British Bigfoot: New Info As I mentioned yesterday, my new book, There's Something in the Woods, contains substantial new data on the British Bigfoot. And to give you an indication, that includes a wealth of new material on the Cannock Chase man-beast; the Man-Monkey of the Shropshire Union Canal; and a host of British werewolf encounters.

A Study of the British Bigfoot In Search of a British Man-Beast the Beast of Bolam, the Big Grey Man, the Man-Monkey, and the Wild Man of Orford are just a few of its many names. The Strangest Sasquatch of All But, the wild men and Bigfoot-style beasts of Britain are not what many might assume them to be. They’re not just strange. In the folklore of Cambridgeshire, the Shug Monkey is a creature that shares features of a dog and monkey, which reportedly haunted Slough Hill Lane (a street that leads from the village of West Wratting to nearby Balsham). The creature, said to have the body of a jet-black shaggy sheepdog and the face of a monkey with staring eyes, was believed to be a supernatural ghost or demon.

In Search of a British Man-Beast: The huge forests of the United States are home to Sasquatch. The Abominable Snowman roams the Himalayas. Australia has a similar beast, the Yowie.

In China there lurks a giant, bipedal creature called the Yeren. From the /5(8). The subtitle is `In Search of the British Bigfoot', which is slightly misleading in that the `man-monkey' sightings he reports seem to be wholly supernatural rather than relate to /5(13).

The main subject matter of the book is a roughly man-sized `man-monkey', seen mainly in Staffordshire, in particular near a stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal and on Cannock Chase. Many of the sightings include harassment of vehicles on roads/5(13). And one of the most famous is a creature said to haunt a certain stretch of old, tree-shrouded canal in central England.

Its name is the Man-Monkey, and it became the subject of a full-length book from me in titled Man-Monkey: In Search of the British Bigfoot.

A very atmospheric, tree-shrouded locale, Bridge 39 is arguably as weird as the hairy man-beast : Nick Redfern. Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for MAN-MONKEY - In Search of the British Bigfoot at Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users/5(9).

The Monster Files A few days ago I received an email from a man named Darren Weaver who had read my book, Man Monkey: In Search of the British Bigfoot. The book focuses on the strange story of a weird, spectral, Bigfoot-like creature that has been seen Author: Nick Redfern.

The subtitle is `In Search of the British Bigfoot', which is slightly misleading in that the `man-monkey' sightings he reports seem to be wholly supernatural rather than relate to real animals that are hiding in the woods/5(13). The Man-Monkey of Bridge 39 The so-called Man-Monkey of Bridge 39 on Britain's Shropshire Union Canal is a beast that has fascinated me for 20 years.

And finally, last year, I was able to put all my findings together on the creature in my book of the same name: : Nick Redfern. The Man-Monkey. On the cold and moonlit night of Janua man was riding home with his horse-and-cart from Woodcote in the county of Shropshire to Ranton, Staffordshire, England.

Enveloped in darkness, he pulled his jacket tightly around him to keep out the biting wind.
